The Reverend Ian LaFleur
is our Incumbent (Priest and Pastor) at St. Stephen’s, Maple.
The Rev’d Ian LaFleur, a graduate of Trinity College, University of Toronto, is the son of The Rev’d Vernon and Mrs. Stella LaFleur, second of their seven children. He is husband to Lorraine, father to Candice (Leonard), Dion (Melissa), Alayna and Alex and, Grandpa or Baha to Nathaniel, Nila, and Winter.
A teacher in early life, he has also been an entrepreneur and business leader with experience in hospitality, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical marketing.
Ordained in May 2013 in the Anglican Diocese of Toronto, he has served as Deacon at Holy Trinity, Thornhill, Assistant Curate at St Andrew’s Scarborough and Rector at St Cuthbert, Leaside. He has served as Honourary Clerical Secretary to Synod, chairs the Diocesan Trust and Culture working group and was Regional Dean of the Eglinton Deanery.
Fr. Ian is an avid gardener, under Lorraine’s direction! He dabbles in photography; loves music and dancing; and is passionate about children, Jesus the Messiah, and the unmasking and dismantling of unjust systems founded on policies and ideas which result in, and normalize, injustice and inequality.
He affirms the equal value, dignity and rights of all people and is committed to the restoral of right relations with Canada’s First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples, and with all creation.
He is a student of Christian spirituality, monasticism and mysticism, and international relations with a particular interest in international morality and the religious foundations of the same.
